WordCatchPrivacy policy

WordCatch is designed to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what is processed, why, and what your rights are.

WordCatch contains no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The extension reads the text of pages only to find the word under your cursor, locally; this text is neither stored nor transmitted, except for the word to translate. No data is sold or used for advertising.
This website does not set any cookies.
Legal bases
- Translation and operation of the extension: performance of the service you request.
- Premium purchase and payment: performance of the contract, and legal obligations (accounting).
Retention
- Local data: until you delete it (Settings → “Reset my progress”) or uninstall the extension.
- Purchase data: as long as your Premium access exists, then as required by accounting law (10 years for invoices).
Transfers outside the European Union
ExtensionPay and Stripe may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses and/or the Data Privacy Framework).
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. To exercise these rights, email trazevfx@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Extension permissions
- Access to websites: required to show the translation bubble on any page.
- Storage: to save your words and settings locally.
- Scripting: to activate the extension in tabs that are already open when you install it.
Changes
This policy may change. In case of a significant change, Premium users will be notified by email.
